Yogi Adityanath Rallies in Patna Sahib, Backs Ravi Shankar Prasad
Patna: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addressed an election rally on Tuesday in Patna Sahib parliamentary constituency, voicing his support for Ravi Shankar Prasad. Speaking at the Polytechnic College grounds in Patliputra Colony, CM Yogi declared, “Those who brought Ram will bring him back,” highlighting Prasad’s past role as Ramlala’s lawyer.
Adityanath urged voters to strengthen Prime Minister Narendra Modi by supporting Prasad. He criticised the opposition India alliance, contrasting the present with India ten years ago, a time he associated with terrorist attacks and major scams. “Today, the poor receive free ration, farmers get Rs 8,000 a year under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, and youth are being employed,” he said. He forecasted that Congress members would leave the country after June 4.
Reflecting on the past decade, Adityanath noted, “There was no security; newspapers were filled with headlines about murders. But today, India has made significant progress.” He dismissed those praising Pakistan, suggesting they should relocate there.
Adityanath also pointed out the NDA government’s achievements, including the provision of free ration to the poor and the Kisan Samman Nidhi for farmers. He promised that if the NDA wins again, PM Modi would ensure medical treatment up to Rs 5 lakh for any person over 70 years old. He also credited PM Modi with providing employment opportunities.
The Chief Minister mocked the opposition’s nervousness about the NDA’s potential to secure over 400 seats, encouraging Prasad to bring Patna residents to Ayodhya by train after the elections, assuring them of hospitality there.
He asserted that a Modi victory would benefit the country, whereas an India alliance win would serve only their interests. “During the pandemic, BJP workers risked their lives to help people, unlike the absent RJD-Congress members,” he said.
Addressing the people of Bihar as honoured guests, Adityanath, coming from the birthplace of Mother Sita, assured them of a warm welcome and support in Ayodhya.
Earlier in Alawalpur village of Fatuha, Adityanath praised PM Modi’s leadership in abolishing triple talaq, thereby empowering Muslim women, and removing Section 370 from Kashmir, crediting the local MP’s role in these achievements.
He targeted the Grand Alliance, accusing them of wanting to impose Taliban-like rule and return to the “lantern era.” He assured the public that such regressive changes would not occur under the current administration.
Adityanath concluded by asserting the rapid development of new India, mentioning future plans for Mathura following the Ram temple’s completion, and a firm stance against provocations from Pakistan.
