Patna: In a heartfelt social media message, Tej Pratap Yadav, recently expelled from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and disowned by his father, Lalu Prasad, has reached out to his parents, expressing deep emotional turmoil and longing for reconciliation.
Addressing his parents as “My dear mummy and papa,” Tej Pratap wrote, “My entire world revolves around you both. You are more than God to me, and any command from you is paramount. I only seek your trust and love, nothing else.”

He attributed his expulsion from both the party and family to the influence of “greedy people,” suggesting that political conspiracies have driven a wedge between him and his family.
The appeal came days after Lalu publicly announced Tej Pratap’s six-year suspension from the RJD. The move followed Tej Pratap’s declaration about Anushka Yadav on social media, which he later claimed was a result of his account being hacked.
Adding to the turmoil, Tej Pratap’s estranged wife Aishwarya Rai — daughter of former senior RJD leader Chandrika Rai — reacted strongly. She told media outlets that “this was never a marriage, only betrayal from day one,” and urged the Yadav family to “take responsibility for enabling his behaviour.” The couple has been embroiled in a protracted and contentious separation since 2018.
Tej Pratap’s post about Anushka Yadav was interpreted by many as a de facto second marriage, leading to widespread criticism from both political and social circles. While Anushka has not made a formal statement, her presence in Tej Pratap’s recent social media content has drawn scrutiny.
Observers say this episode highlights the growing personal and political isolation of Tej Pratap. His erratic public behaviour, clashes with party leaders, and family discord have increasingly distanced him from the inner circle of the RJD.
Despite this, his emotional message suggests a desire to reconcile with his parents, though it remains unclear whether the Yadav family is prepared to welcome him back into the fold.
