Begusarai/Patna: Union textiles minister Giriraj Singh presided over a certificate distribution ceremony for Jeevika Didis at the Begusarai Extension Centre of the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Patna, highlighting efforts to strengthen rural women’s skills, economic independence and employment opportunities.
Around 140 Jeevika Didis attended the programme and took part in interactive sessions focused on self-reliance and career development.
The specialised training programme was jointly conducted in Begusarai by NIFT Patna and Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited (ABFRL).
Rs 5,000 Monthly Stipend During Training
Certificates were distributed to participants to formally recognise the skills acquired through the programme.
During the training period, each participating Jeevika Didi received a monthly stipend of Rs 5,000, according to the organisers.
The programme also focused on strengthening livelihood opportunities by helping participants access machinery and other resources needed to expand production and develop local employment opportunities.
Focus On Rural Entrepreneurship
Discussions during the event centred on creating sustainable livelihood opportunities and enabling members of self-help groups to develop and scale micro-enterprises.
Officials reaffirmed their commitment to providing continued institutional support for grassroots entrepreneurship and helping women build sustainable sources of income.
The event was attended by NIFT Patna director Col Rahul Sharma, Jeevika DPM Avinash and SDO (Dumraon) Rajiv, along with administrative officials and regional representatives.
