Speeding Car Hits Divider in Begusarai, Leaves Two Dead and Two Critical

Begusarai: A road accident late Thursday night claimed the lives of two finance professionals and left two others critically injured on NH-28 near Chiranjeevipur in the Bachhwara police station area. The incident occurred when the speeding car they were traveling in collided with a divider.

The victims, Ravi Kumar (45) of Sheikhpur, Muzaffarpur, and Ashish Kumar (29) of Rahatpur, Begusarai, were declared dead at the scene. The injured, Rahul Kumar of Mahua, Vaishali, and Niranjan Singh of Dhanbad, have been admitted to a private hospital for treatment.

The group of four, employees of a private finance company, were returning to their rented accommodation in Vishnupur, Begusarai, after a work-related trip to Sarairanjan, Samastipur, in their Tata Tiago. Witnesses and police suspect the driver, unaware of the road layout, failed to notice the divider’s sudden start, leading to the crash. The car, reportedly traveling at 100 km/h, was severely damaged, leaving debris scattered across the road.

Local residents rushed to the scene upon hearing the loud crash. They broke the vehicle’s windows to rescue the occupants and alerted the authorities. All four victims were transported to the community health center, where doctors pronounced Ravi Kumar and Ashish Kumar dead. Rahul Kumar and Niranjan Singh were given first aid and referred to a higher medical facility due to their critical condition.

Bachhwara police station in-charge Vivek Bharti confirmed the details of the accident. “The vehicle collided with the divider, resulting in a fatal crash. Our team reached the spot immediately after receiving information. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem, and further investigation is underway,” he said.

The incident has plunged the families of the victims into grief. Ashish Kumar’s family in Rahatpur is in shock, while Ravi Kumar’s relatives have been informed. The families of the injured have also been notified.
