Granddaughter, Boyfriend Kill Grandfather Over Alleged Abuse: Stabbed 38 Times, Learned Evidence Removal on YouTube
Muzaffarpur: Two minors, aged 16 and 17, have been arrested for the brutal murder of a 70-year-old man in Muzaffarpur, Bihar. The incident took place on Monday night in the Malighat Kalibari area under Mithanpura police station. The accused—a schoolgirl and her boyfriend—had meticulously planned the crime over several months, learning techniques to eliminate evidence through YouTube videos, police revealed.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Seema Devi, the minors wore surgical gloves during the crime to avoid leaving fingerprints. Before the murder, the girl mixed sleeping pills into her parents’ food, rendering them unconscious. The couple then entered the elderly man’s room, where they carried out the gruesome act.
The boy first struck the man with a stone, and when he cried out, his mouth was tied with a cloth. He was then repeatedly attacked with the stone. The granddaughter followed by stabbing him 38 times with a knife.
The deceased, identified as Kaushal Kishore, was discovered lying under the bed with multiple stab wounds and injuries to his head. Police recovered evidence, including CCTV footage, linking the granddaughter to the murder.
Motive and Investigation
The investigation revealed that the victim allegedly abused his granddaughter, which may have been the motive behind the crime. The minors attempted to stage the scene to make it appear as though an outsider had committed the murder. After the killing, the boy disposed of the knife to mislead investigators.
Kaushal Kishore’s son, Suman Saurabh, lodged an FIR at Mithanpura police station, leading to the arrest of the two accused. Speaking to the media, Saurabh said: “After my father’s death, we found bricks near his head and knife marks on his body. We never suspected this could happen within the family.”
A Chilling Plot
DSP Seema Devi disclosed that the minors had been planning the murder for six months, inspired by online videos that demonstrated how to clean crime scenes and avoid detection. “The girl’s father occasionally took sleeping pills, which were already in the house. This made it easier for her to execute her plan,” said the DSP.
The accused are now in custody, and the police are preparing the chargesheet. The case has shocked the local community, raising concerns about the influence of online content on impressionable minds and the escalating violence among juveniles.
Further investigations are underway to understand the complete circumstances leading to the murder.
