Rs.1117 Crore Approved for Four-Lane Highway Connecting NH-27 and NH-327E
Kishanganj: The construction of a four-lane highway on the Kishanganj-Bahadurganj section in Bihar has been approved at a cost of Rs. 1117.01 crore. The project spans 24.849 km and will serve as a vital spur connecting NH-27 and NH-327E. Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari shared the announcement, highlighting the project’s importance for the region’s development.
This highway is part of an economic corridor that will significantly enhance connectivity between the East-West Corridor (NH-27) and NH-327E. Once completed, it will reduce travel distance and time for passengers while improving connectivity to Siliguri Airport (Bagdogra). The project aims to streamline travel across nodal points and provide a more efficient route for travelers.
The highway will primarily be constructed as a Greenfield project, offering a new travel option for Seemanchal residents without requiring them to pass through West Bengal. It will begin at Uttar Ram village on NH-31 in Kishanganj district and extend to Satal Istmarar village of Bahadurganj on NH-327E.
This initiative is set to strengthen road connectivity within the region and enhance travel facilities for residents of Seemanchal. Moreover, the additional four-lane road in Kishanganj will improve connectivity to Siliguri, Nepal, and the northeastern states, fostering regional integration and economic growth.
