Patna: East Central Railway (ECR) has extended the operation of four pairs of special trains to manage the expected increase in passenger traffic during Durga Puja, Diwali and Chhath.
The extended services will provide additional travel options for passengers travelling through Patna, Purnia, Deoghar, Raxaul, Narkatiaganj and Islampur, among other destinations.
According to the railway, the trains will continue to operate on their existing routes, stoppages, schedules and coach compositions during the extended period.
Patna-Islampur Special Gets 26 Extra Trips
The operation of the 03297/03298 Patna-Islampur-Patna Special has been extended by 26 trips.
Train 03297 Patna-Islampur Special will operate from October 1 to November 29 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
The return service, 03298 Islampur-Patna Special, will run from October 2 to November 30 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
The train will operate via Fatuha.
Raghopur-Deoghar Special To Run Daily
The 05573/05574 Raghopur-Deoghar-Raghopur Special has been extended by 61 trips.
The service will operate daily from October 1 to November 30 between Raghopur and Deoghar.
The route will cover Supaul, Saharsa, Simri Bakhtiyarpur, Mansi, Khagaria, Sabdalpur, Munger, Sultanganj, Bhagalpur and Banka.
The extended service will provide another travel option for passengers along the route during the festival period.
Patliputra-Purnia Court Special Gets 32 Extra Trips
The 03216/03215 Patliputra-Purnia Court-Patliputra Special has received an extension of 32 trips.
Train 03216 Patliputra-Purnia Court Special will operate from October 18 to November 30, five days a week, except Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The return service, 03215 Purnia Court-Patliputra Special, will run from October 19 to December 1, five days a week, except Thursdays and Sundays.
The train will operate via Hajipur, Muzaffarpur, Samastipur, Khagaria, Mansi, Saharsa, Dauram Madhepura and Banmankhi.
Raxaul-Narkatiaganj Special Gets 18 Extra Trips
The 05543/05544 Raxaul-Narkatiaganj-Raxaul Special has also been extended by 18 trips.
The train will run from October 1 to November 28 on Thursdays and Saturdays between Raxaul and Narkatiaganj.
It will operate via Sikta.
Extra Rail Services For Festival Rush
The extended services are intended to provide additional train options during the festival season, when passenger demand is expected to increase significantly.
The four special train services will connect several important destinations across Bihar and neighbouring areas, including Patna, Purnia, Raxaul, Narkatiaganj, Islampur and Deoghar.
ECR said the trains will follow their notified routes, stoppages, timings and coach arrangements during the extended operating period.
