Patna: Bihar Disaster Management Minister Ratnesh Sada visited AIIMS Patna on September 28 and inspected the BHISHM Cube, an emergency medical support system designed to provide rapid healthcare assistance during disasters and other emergencies.
During the visit, Dr Anil Kumar, Head of the Department of Trauma and Emergency and Nodal Officer for the BHISHM Cube at AIIMS Patna, briefed the minister on the system’s functioning, deployment and operational features.
BHISHM Cube Designed For Emergency Response
Dr Anil Kumar explained how the BHISHM Cube can support emergency medical services and facilitate a rapid response during situations involving mass casualties and other disasters.
The system is designed to provide medical support in emergency situations where quick deployment of healthcare facilities may be required.
Minister Ratnesh Sada inspected the BHISHM Cube and reviewed its various components and operational capabilities. The visit also included discussions on the role of advanced emergency medical systems in strengthening disaster preparedness and response.
AIIMS Patna Officials Present
AIIMS Patna Executive Director and CEO Prof. (Brig.) Dr Raju Agarwal and Medical Superintendent Prof. Dr Prashant Kumar Singh were present during the minister’s visit.
Nursing personnel and other members associated with the BHISHM Cube and emergency response team also attended the inspection.

The visit highlighted the importance of strengthening disaster preparedness, emergency medical response and coordinated healthcare services.
The BHISHM Cube is intended to support timely medical care during disasters and mass-casualty incidents, where rapid access to emergency healthcare can be critical.
