Two Workers Die as Wall Collapses at Hathua Sub-Divisional Hospital in Gopalganj

Hathua: Two workers were killed, and another was injured after a weak wall collapsed during demolition work at Hathua sub-divisional hospital in Gopalganj on Tuesday. The incident occurred while workers were removing bricks from a demolished hospital wall when an adjacent private wall gave way unexpectedly.

The deceased have been identified as Nitish Kumar Sah from Turpatti village, under Hathua police station, and Santosh Sah from Basdila village, under Mirganj police station.

According to reports, the contractor was using a JCB machine to demolish an old hospital wall. While the workers were clearing debris, a nearby weak wall suddenly collapsed, burying three workers under the rubble.

Local residents quickly alerted the authorities. Police arrived at the scene and, with the help of locals, removed the debris to recover the bodies. The injured worker was rushed to the hospital for treatment. The bodies of the deceased were sent to Sadar Hospital for post-mortem examination.

Hathua police station in-charge confirmed the incident, stating, “The matter is being investigated, and appropriate action will be taken.”

Family members of the deceased rushed to the site upon hearing the news, as the community mourns the tragic loss of lives.
