Sharad Yadav Completes First Year as Vice Chancellor of AKU, Highlights Achievements and Future Goals
Patna: Aryabhatta Knowledge University (AKU) Vice Chancellor Sharad Kumar Yadav celebrated the completion of his first year in office with a tree plantation programme on the university campus on Saturday. The event highlighted the institution’s progress under his leadership and unveiled ambitious plans for the future.
Reflecting on the past year, Yadav outlined several notable achievements, including the establishment of five new schools, all of which now have full student batches. He also confirmed that the process of appointing regular faculty members is underway. The university has forged partnerships with prominent institutions, including the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), signing 8-10 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs). Additionally, a push to cultivate a startup culture within the university has been a key focus.
Yadav also pointed to infrastructure and operational improvements, such as the reopening of previously closed facilities like the canteen and hostel. “The university is recognized as a research-driven institution, and we are making concentrated efforts to strengthen this identity,” he said.
Yadav emphasized plans to improve the university’s academic grading and foster industry connections. Over the past year, AKU organized two major industry-focused conclaves, during which the Education Minister encouraged stronger ties with industry partners. He also announced a grand international conference scheduled for the end of February, where dignitaries including the Governor, Chief Minister, and leading scientists are expected to participate.
Key attendees at the event included Registrar Ramji Singh, Dean of Management Dr. Rupesh Kumar, Examination Controller Dr. Rajiv Ranjan, and faculty members Dr. Rakesh Kumar Singh, Dr. Manisha Prakash, and Dr. Shad Moini, alongside students, researchers, and other staff members.
Expressing gratitude to the AKU community, Yadav reaffirmed his commitment to raising the university’s academic and research standards to new heights.
