Patna: St. Xavier’s College of Management & Technology, in collaboration with the Bhargava Foundation for Research and Education, hosted a National Seminar on the theme ‘Transformative Trends in Social Science, Engineering, and Management.’ The event aimed to delve into how technological advancements, societal shifts, and modern management strategies are reshaping industries and communities. The seminar provided a platform for knowledge exchange and scholarly discussions across disciplines.
The Rector of St. Xavier’s College, Fr. Joseph Sebastian SJ, who was the chief patron of the seminar, emphasized the importance of embracing change and seeking sustainable solutions for a better future. Fr. Dr. Martin Poras SJ, the Principal, welcomed the delegates and highlighted how the seminar aligned with the college’s mission of promoting innovation and academic excellence. The seminar convenor, Piyush Ranjan Sahay, stressed the importance of interdisciplinary research in driving intellectual dialogue and fostering innovation.
Dr. Anil Kumar, Head of the Department of Chemistry at Sahibganj College, delivered the keynote address, focusing on the seminar’s timely relevance. Online keynote speakers Dr. Satyajit Das, Associate Professor at Govt. Kamlanagar College, Mizoram, and Dr. Gitanjali Panda, Associate Professor of Economics at Fakir Mohan University, Balasore, also spoke on themes such as sustainability, technological integration, and the socio-economic impact of policies like GST and Demonetization.
The seminar featured four technical sessions covering diverse topics such as the AI revolution, the impact of GST on India’s economy, the role of social media in mental health, and the relevance of the National Education Policy 2020. The two-day event concluded with a valedictory session, where Fr. Dr. Sherry George SJ, Vice Principal, expressed appreciation for the knowledge shared. Co-Convenor Dr. Kalpana Kumari, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, shared her reflections on the seminar’s success, while keynote speaker Dr. Haseen Ali Ahmed, Coordinator IQAC at Indira Gandhi College, Assam, praised the seminar for sparking insightful discussions. The event wrapped up with a vote of thanks by Dr. Shilpi Kavita, Assistant Professor in the Department of Business Administration.
