Tejashwi Accuses Bihar Government of Targeting One Religion; Meets Governor, Demands Action Against Trainee DSP Over Maulana Assault

Tejashwi Accuses Bihar Government of Targeting One Religion

Patna: Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav visited Raj Bhavan on Wednesday morning for a meeting with Governor Arif Mohammad Khan. The two leaders engaged in a half-hour discussion, after which Tejashwi turned his attention to the state government, accusing it of failing to maintain law and order in Bihar.

Speaking to the media after leaving the Raj Bhavan, Tejashwi alleged that people from a specific religion were being targeted in the state. He condemned the police for their role in such actions, stating, “The police have become predators instead of protectors.”

Tejashwi also brought up the recent assault on a Maulana in Madhubani, urging the Governor to take action against the trainee DSP involved in the incident. He called for a clear message to be sent that no one—be it a civilian or a police officer—should take the law into their own hands. “The victim was not only assaulted but was also released after paying Rs 25,000,” he said.

Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav visited Raj Bhavan on Wednesday morning for a meeting with Governor Arif Mohammad Khan.

The Leader of Opposition did not hold back in his criticism of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Tejashwi remarked that the CM appeared to be in an “unconscious state,” a comment he described as emblematic of Bihar’s troubled governance. He further accused Nitish of losing the trust of the people, pointing to his silence and erratic statements as proof that the state was no longer in safe hands. “Today, Nitish Kumar is not the CM. DK is the super CM,” Yadav Tejashwi claimed.

Tejashwii also took issue with what he described as widespread corruption within the administration. “From officers to ministers, everyone has come forward to defend the criminals,” he said, asserting that transfers and government contracts were often awarded in exchange for money. He also pointed to recent appointments, acknowledging the completion of recruitment processes that he had initiated during his tenure but clarified that no credit should be taken for them.

The Opposition leader continued his attack on the Bihar government, alleging that even religious artifacts were being stolen. “The idol of the Ram temple has been stolen in Madhubani,” Tejashwi claimed, adding that a leader from the BJP had been appointed as the working president of the JD (U).

As the state assembly session approaches, Tejashwi vowed to expose the corruption and mismanagement in Bihar with evidence. He also commented on the upcoming Delhi elections, urging voters to support leaders who have genuinely worked for the people, and to oppose those who seek to divide the population along religious lines.
