Patna: The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS), Indian Institute of Technology Patna inaugurated the “International Workshop on Empowering Female Entrepreneurs of Bihar through Information and Communication (ICT) Tools”, under the esteemed SPARC (Scheme for Promotion of Academic and Research Collaboration) scheme of Ministry of Education, Government of India on the 8th February, 2025.
This international workshop (8th – 9th Feb 2025) convened by Dr. Richa Chaudhary, Associate Professor, IIT Patna, aims to bring together aspiring and existing women entrepreneurs from Bihar, offering them insights, skills, and strategies to grow their businesses using modern ICT tools.
The inaugural session of the workshop was attended by distinguished guests and professors including the Chief Guest Vikas Vaibhav, IPS, Inspector General of Police and Advisor, Home Department, Government of Bihar; Special Guest Rashmi Ranjan, DGM, SIDBI, Patna, and Guest of Honor, Usha Jha, President of Bihar Mahila Udyog Sangh and Founder, Patels Crafts, Patron, Prof. T.N. Singh, Director, IIT Patna; Workshop Convenor Dr. Richa Chaudhary, Associate Professor, HSS Department, IIT Patna, and the Co-Convenors Prof. Namjae Cho, Hanyang University, South Korea; Prof. Gyeung Min Kim, Ewha Women’s University, South Korea; Prof. Santosh. Rangnekar, Department of Management Studies, IIT, Roorkee.
This workshop attended by 35 female entrepreneurs across Bihar is a significant step towards bridging the digital divide and supporting women entrepreneurs. Experts from different fields such as Dr. Rishi Kant, Assistant Professor, CIMP; Pratik Deo, Director Deo Biz & Services Pvt Ltd; CA Pallavi Jha Chairperson of ICAI Patna; Prakhar Kumar Singh, Co-Founder, FLOWW APIs and Minakshi, Co-Founder, Loons, enlightened the participants with their teachings on digital marketing, digital financial management, consumer analytics E-commerce platforms, and networking.
