BPSC Exam Protests: Thousands Rally in Patna Over Alleged Rigging, Khan Sir Warns Nitish Government

Patna: Thousands of candidates took to the streets of Patna on Monday, protesting against alleged irregularities in the 70th Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) preliminary examination. The demonstration, held at the Gardanibagh protest site, saw prominent educator Faizal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir, marching in support of the students.
Addressing the media en route to the protest site, Khan Sir urged the Nitish government to take decisive action, warning that a re-examination would prevent public backlash in the upcoming elections. He also acknowledged the role of the media in highlighting the issue and amplifying students’ concerns.
Calling for police and administrative cooperation, Khan Sir alleged large-scale misconduct in the examination process. “The extent of rigging is significant, which is why we are here. We are not troublemakers—our only aim is to fight for the students,” he said. He insisted that the government must conduct a re-examination, stating that it would be in its own interest as well.
The teacher-activist had previously cautioned the government on February 10, asserting that the future of students should not be compromised. “The government will also be tested in six months. If it does not take a timely decision in students’ favor, the impact will be visible in elections,” he had said. Expressing confidence in the judiciary, he added, “There will be no injustice from the court. The demand for a re-examination is completely justified.”
