Patna: A daylight attempt to break into an ATM was reported in West Patel Nagar under the Shastri Nagar police station area of Patna on Sunday. Two youths allegedly attempted to cut open a Bank of Baroda ATM before being caught by local residents and handed over to the police.
Locals Alert Police
According to preliminary information, the two youths were allegedly trying to cut the ATM machine at the Bank of Baroda ATM located in West Patel Nagar. Their suspicious activities raised the alarm among nearby residents.
The locals immediately informed the police. A team from Shastri Nagar police station reached the spot and detained both youths.
The prompt intervention by residents reportedly prevented the suspected ATM break-in from being carried out.
Police Questioning Underway
Police are questioning the two youths to determine why they allegedly attempted to cut open the ATM and what their motive was.
Investigators are also looking into whether the duo was acting alone or was connected to a larger gang involved in ATM thefts. Further investigation is underway.
