Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 623 infrastructure projects worth Rs 1,404.84 crore in Patna district as part of his Pragati Yatra. The projects include key road connectivity upgrades, multi-level parking, and urban development initiatives aimed at easing congestion and improving public infrastructure.
A major highlight is the long-awaited connection of the Digha-AIIMS elevated road with Bailey Road towards Saguna Mor side. This link is expected to significantly reduce travel time for motorists from Danapur and surrounding areas. The project aims to streamline traffic flow and provide better connectivity to the AIIMS Patna.
In another development, a multi-level car parking facility at Patna Planetarium was inaugurated, addressing the long-standing parking woes in the bustling area. The facility is expected to accommodate a large number of vehicles and ease congestion near the planetarium.
The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone for a road over Rajiv Nagar Nala, a move aimed at improving accessibility in the area. Additionally, work has begun on a ring road connecting JP Setu to Koilwar, which is expected to enhance connectivity between northern and southern Bihar.
The projects span multiple departments, including urban development, road construction, education, health, and rural infrastructure. Notable allocations include Rs 554.94 crore for the Road Construction Department, Rs 104.09 crore for Bihar State Building Construction Corporation, and Rs 147.36 crore for Bihar Rajya Pul Nirman Nigam Limited.
