Patna Women’s College Observes Surya Namaskar Day to Promote Holistic Well-being

Patna: The Department of Philosophy at Patna Women’s College marked Surya Namaskar Day on Tuesday with enthusiasm, emphasizing the significance of this ancient practice rooted in the Vedic tradition. Surya Namaskar, a dynamic sequence of asanas including Hasta Uttanasana, Padahastasana, Ashwasanchalanasana, and Parvatasana, is known for enhancing flexibility, stimulating internal organs, and promoting overall physical and mental well-being.
Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C., Principal of Patna Women’s College, attended the event alongside Prof. Dr. Ameeta Jaiswal, Head of the Department of Philosophy, Dr. Keerti Chaudhary, Assistant Professor, and Richa Priya, Guest Faculty. Yoga instructor Mitu Kumari guided the participants through the Surya Namaskar routine, explaining its benefits in detail.
Students from various departments took part in the session, gaining practical experience in the traditional yoga practice. The Department of Philosophy offers Certificate, Diploma, and Advanced Diploma courses in Yoga, providing structured learning opportunities for those interested in deepening their understanding of the discipline.
