“Lalu Prasad Is Our Uncle, But…” – Nishant Backs Dad Nitish Kumar, Dismisses Health Concerns

Patna: Nishant Kumar, son of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, has become increasingly active in political circles, fueling speculation ahead of the upcoming assembly elections. Amid opposition claims about his father’s health, Nishant has strongly defended the JD(U) leader, asserting that he is fit to serve another full term.

In an interview on a YouTube news channel, Nishant responded to criticisms from opposition leaders, including Tejashwi Prasad Yadav and political strategist Prashant Kishor. Dismissing concerns over Nitish’s health, he said, “My father has visited all 38 districts during his Pragati Yatra. He has met the Prime Minister and the President. Have you noticed any weakness? He is completely healthy and capable of serving as Chief Minister for five more years.”

Nishant also defended his father’s governance, highlighting key developments in Bihar since 2005. He pointed to improvements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and law and order, contrasting them with what he described as the ‘jungle raj’ of previous administrations. “People were once afraid to buy a car in Bihar; now, law and order has improved significantly,” he said.

Emphasizing Nitish’s commitment to public service, Nishant urged voters to support the JD(U) with a stronger mandate. “You tested him when JD(U) had 43 seats, and he still delivered. Now, give him more seats,” he said.

His remarks come at a time when speculation is growing over Nishant’s potential political entry, though he has not officially confirmed any plans.
