Patna : Patna Women’s College marked World Water Day 2025 with a poster-making competition organised by the ECO Task Force in collaboration with the Department of Zoology. The event, held on March 21, centred on the theme “Glacier Preservation,” underscoring the urgency of safeguarding glaciers and promoting sustainable management of freshwater resources to ensure water security in the face of climate change.

The competition, open to members of the ECO Task Force, aimed to raise awareness about the global water crisis while encouraging participants to creatively highlight the importance of water conservation. A total of 70 participants contributed their ideas and artistic expressions to the event.

The top honours went to Vaidehi Jha and Aishwarya from the Department of Zoology, who secured first place. The second position was claimed by Ashi Tiwari and Smita Kumari, also from the Department of Zoology. The third position resulted in a tie between two teams — Anjali Kumari and Anshu Kumari from the Department of English, and Afeefa Firdaus and Harshita from the Department of Microbiology. Consolation prizes were awarded to Isha Kumari and Nandini Kumari from the Department of Botany, Payal Kumari and Shreya Kumari from the Department of Chemistry, and Adan Fatima and Ruchi Kumari Jaiswal from the Department of Physics.

The competition was judged by Dr. Tauseef Hassan, Head of the Department of CEMS; Dr. Runa, Assistant Professor in the Department of CEMS; and Ms. Tulika Kumari, Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography. The event was managed by Saba Hasan and Sana Amrin, Semester IV students from the Department of Zoology.

Dr. Sumeet Ranjan, Secretary of the ECO Task Force and Assistant Professor in the Department of Zoology, coordinated the event. Dr. Shobha Shrivastava, Head of the Department of Zoology, along with faculty members and support staff, contributed to the success of the initiative.
