Patna: Bihar has been experiencing continuous weather changes over the past few days, with heavy rainfall recorded in Araria since morning. The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert for 36 districts, warning of strong winds reaching speeds of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour.
Alongside the rain, some areas are likely to witness hailstorms, lightning, and thunderstorms. According to the department, northern Bihar, including Purnia, Katihar, Kishanganj, Araria, Madhepura, Supaul, Saharsa, Khagaria, Begusarai, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Darbhanga, East Champaran, West Champaran, Sheohar, Vaishali, and Samastipur, will remain covered with light clouds for the next five days. During this period, the maximum temperature is expected to range between 30 to 32 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature may hover around 18 to 20 degrees Celsius.
On Friday, several districts of the state received rainfall, bringing relief from the scorching heat. However, farmers have been advised to remain alert as pre-monsoon showers could potentially damage crops.
The Patna Meteorological Center has issued an orange alert for five districts—Khagaria, Bhagalpur, Munger, Banka, and Jamui—on Sunday, March 22. These regions are expected to experience hailstorms, lightning, and strong winds blowing at speeds of 30 to 40 km/h. The weather department has urged residents and farmers in these areas to take necessary precautions.
In addition, a yellow alert has been issued for rain and gusty winds in 31 other districts of Bihar. Residents are advised to stay updated with weather forecasts and take preventive measures as needed.
