Patna: Preparations for Chaiti Chhat Mahaparva in Patna are in full swing, with the district administration finalizing arrangements at 41 Ganga ghats and seven ponds to ensure a smooth and safe celebration. The four-day festival began today with the Nahai-Khai ritual, marking the start of fervent devotion across the state.
Ghats and Traffic Preparations
Authorities have set up essential facilities at key ghats, including barricading, drinking water supply, lighting, changing rooms, and help desks. Security personnel have been deployed to manage the crowd and ensure safety.
To facilitate smooth traffic movement, the administration has issued a traffic route plan, restricting vehicle movement from 2 pm to 7 pm on April 3 and 4 am to 8 am on the same day. However, essential vehicles—including fire brigades, ambulances, patient transport, hearse vehicles, and those related to judicial work—are exempt from these restrictions.
Parking Arrangements
Dedicated parking zones have been designated for devotees near major ghats, including Ramji Chak, Shiva Ghat, Patipul Ghat, Digha Post Office Road, Minar Ghat, and Bind Toli Ghat. Larger vehicles will be accommodated at JP Setu’s north and south flanks, while essential services such as ambulances and fire brigade trucks will be stationed at strategic points for quick response.
