Patna: Tej Pratap Yadav, the elder son of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad and a former Bihar minister, made an unexpected appearance at Kadamkuan police station in Patna around 1am on Sunday, arriving in half pants and accompanied by supporters.

The sudden visit left officers surprised, prompting the officer on duty to inform the station house officer (SHO), who rushed to the scene to understand the situation.

According to sources, Tej Pratap had been passing through the Kadamkuan area late at night when he noticed a group of people gathered near a roundabout. He stopped his vehicle to inquire if there was a problem.

Arunesh Kumar, one of those present, informed him that Bindu Yadav — the husband of the mukhiya (village head) of Gondu Vigha Panchayat in Nalanda district — had been missing for five days. “We believe his location may be in a nearby apartment and have come to search for him,” Kumar said, adding that the family had not received sufficient help from the police so far.

Tej Pratap then decided to accompany the group to the police station to seek assistance. Following the discussion, officers visited the suspected location with the family to conduct a search. However, Bindu Yadav was not found.

His wife, Baby Devi — who currently serves as the elected mukhiya — had already lodged a missing person’s report at Chiksaura police station in Nalanda. According to the complaint, Yadav had left home on his motorcycle on Friday morning, saying he would return shortly. However, he did not come back, and his phone has remained switched off since.

The family has reached out to relatives and friends, but no clues about his whereabouts have emerged. The police are continuing their investigation.
