Patna : Pilgrims from Rajgir can now travel more easily to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and Yoga City Rishikesh, with East Central Railway launching two new direct train services from April.
The initiative is expected to significantly improve connectivity for religious travellers, reducing both travel time and cost, according to railway officials.
The 03221 Rajgir–Vaishno Devi Katra Special will run weekly on Mondays from April 14 to June 30. Departing Rajgir at 2pm, it will reach Katra at 1.30pm the following day. The return journey is scheduled for Wednesdays, departing Katra at 4.30pm. The train will have 24 coaches, including general, sleeper and air-conditioned classes.
Similarly, the 03223 Rajgir–Rishikesh Special is set to begin operations from April 11, running every Thursday. It will leave Rajgir at 6.05am and arrive in Rishikesh at 8.30pm the next day.
