
Patna: Nalanda Open University (NOU) celebrated its 17th convocation today at Bapu Auditorium, where degrees were conferred to graduates from 2023 and 2024. A total of 53 students, including 42 women and 11 men, were honored with gold medals for their exceptional academic achievements across various disciplines.
The event, presided over by Bihar’s Governor and Chancellor, Arif Mohammad Khan, also featured a speech from Prof. Nageshwar Rao, former Vice Chancellor of Indira Gandhi National Open University. During the ceremony, scholars were presented with Malviya ‘Pagri’ and ‘Angavastram’ as a mark of distinction.
Gold medals were awarded to top-performing students in subjects ranging from Hindi and Geography to Disaster Management and Mass Communication. Among the recipients were Aarti Kumari and Tripti Ratnam in Hindi, Shweta Bharti and Kajal Kumari in Geography, and Pooja Varnwal and Soma Kumari in MCA.
Notably, Suhasini Pasupula and Vanshika Shri were recognized as the best postgraduate students, while Prachi Kumari and Ruhi Kumari were named the best undergraduates.
This convocation marks another milestone for NOU, highlighting the achievements of its diverse student body and the continued importance of distance learning in higher education.
