Tightened Security Across Patna Following Pahalgam Terror Attack
Following the Pahalgam terror attack, security across Patna has been dramatically heightened. But where exactly are these measures taking place, and how are authorities stepping up their vigilance? From religious sites to bustling public spaces, the city is seeing an increased police presence—but what’s really happening behind the scenes?

Patna : In the wake of the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, security measures have been significantly heightened across Patna, with police forces maintaining a vigilant presence at key public and religious sites.
Local authorities, led by SSP Avkash Kumar, have ramped up security across the city, with a particular focus on places of worship, tourist spots, and crowded public spaces. The police have been instructed to assess and reinforce security at prominent locations including the Mahavir Mandir, Buddha Smriti Park, Takht Shri Harmandir Sahib Ji, and Eco Park.
To ensure robust protection, officers of the ASP and DSP ranks have been tasked with inspecting these locations regularly, submitting reports on the security situation to senior police officials. Additional forces, including commando-trained jawans from the Patna Police, are being deployed to high-risk areas, with a special emphasis on the security of religious sites such as the Hanuman Temple at Patna Junction.
Night patrols have also been intensified, with all police station in-charges ordered to remain alert for suspicious activities. Authorities are conducting thorough investigations in local hotels and lodges, ensuring that any unusual behaviour is reported to senior officers without delay.
In addition, an extensive vehicle checking operation was conducted across various parts of the city on Wednesday evening. Police officers, including City SPs, DSPs, and police station in-charges, were stationed at key points such as Income Tax Golambar, Dakbungla Chauraha, JP Ganga Path, Nehru Path, NIT Mor, Kankarbagh, and Karbighia, where vehicles were meticulously inspected as part of the ongoing security measures.
This heightened vigilance comes in the wake of concerns following the Pahalgam attack, as the city of Patna works to ensure the safety of its residents and visitors alike.
