
Patna: Gold prices in Patna saw a slight downward movement on Monday, with 24-karat gold trading at approximately Rs 9,478 per gram. According to futures data for the June 5 expiry, gold was priced at Rs 94,906 per 10 grams, marking a marginal decrease of Rs 86 or 0.09% from the previous close.
The average price across trades stood at Rs 94,885.21 per 10 grams, while the contract closed at Rs 94,992. The trading session saw a volume of 886 lots, with open interest rising slightly to 17,526 lots, up by 155 — indicating fresh positions being built.
The price of 22-karat gold in the city was estimated around Rs 8,692 per gram, while 18-karat gold hovered near Rs 7,108 per gram.
Despite the modest fluctuation, interest in the bullion market remains firm, especially in Patna’s retail segments, where wedding season demand continues to support buying activity. Analysts note that while the price movement is minimal, traders and consumers alike should stay alert to international cues and local rate updates, as volatility persists in global markets.
