Khalistani Terrorist Arrested in Motihari: Reveals Crores in Bank Accounts and Terror Network Ties

Motihari/ Patna: In a major breakthrough, notorious Khalistani terrorist Kashmir Singh Galvadi, also known as Balbir Singh, was arrested in Motihari on Monday. The arrest followed a multi-agency operation after the National Investigation Agency (NIA) tracked him down. Singh was brought to court and later transferred to a four-day transit remand for further questioning in Delhi.
Balbir Singh, who had previously escaped from Punjab’s Nabha Jail, is known for his close affiliations with Khalistani extremist groups, including Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) and a Nepal-based network led by Harvinder Singh Sandhu, alias Rinda. According to NIA sources, Singh played a pivotal role in organizing and financing several terrorist operations, including the infamous Nabha jailbreak.
After his escape from jail, Singh had fled to Nepal, where he operated under the guise of a common man. It was revealed during interrogation that he was involved in selling clothes in Nepal to avoid suspicion, all while strengthening the terror network by recruiting new members. Singh’s activity in Nepal was financed through more than six bank accounts, where crores of rupees were funneled into his operations.
Motihari police caught Singh while he was in the city for unspecified work. Intelligence reports suggested that he was planning to cross the Raxaul border and head into Nepal, blending in by walking in civilian clothes without luggage, so as not to arouse suspicion. The NIA had received prior intel, which led to Singh’s swift capture in Motihari.
Balbir Singh, who had a reward of Rs 10 lakh on his head, has been an integral figure in the Khalistani movement. His arrest is a significant achievement in the ongoing efforts by Indian authorities to dismantle terrorist networks and curb the spread of extremism in the region.
As investigations continue, the NIA is piecing together the full extent of Singh’s operations and his connections to various terror outfits. The arrest of this key figure marks a significant step towards neutralizing Khalistani activities in India.
