Patna: Four students from Government Polytechnic Institutes in Bihar have secured coveted placements with Maruti Suzuki India Limited, one of the country’s leading automobile manufacturers, following a recent drive in Patna.
The successful candidates — Gyan Vaibhav, Surabhi Kumari Sinha, Nitish Kumar (Government Polytechnic Barauni, Begusarai) and Raj Shekhar (Government Polytechnic, Munger) — were selected for the role of Junior Engineer Trainee with an annual package of Rs 4.75 lakh. All four students are from the “Fire Technology and Safety” branch of the 2025 batch.
Their selection was part of a placement drive held at Patna planetarium, jointly organised by the Department of Science, Technology and Technical Education, Bihar, and IIT Patna.
This marks the latest in a series of successful recruitment rounds. On April 18, nine students from the Mechanical and Automobile branches of various Government Polytechnic Institutes were also recruited by Maruti Suzuki during a similar placement event.
The department said it remains committed to expanding career opportunities for its students through such initiatives. “Our aim is to open up pathways for meaningful employment for young talent across Bihar,” a department spokesperson said.
Bihar’s Minister for Science, Technology and Technical Education, Sumit Kumar Singh, congratulated the selected students and wished them well for their future. “This is a proud moment for our institutions and a testament to the skills of our students,” he said.
