Patna: A review meeting to assess the status of pending complaints and allegations against Bihar Revenue Service officers and Zonal Officers was held on Wednesday, chaired by Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Sanjay Saraogi. The meeting, held at his office, was attended by senior officials including Additional Chief Secretary Dipak Kumar Singh, Secretaries Jai Singh and Gopal Meena, and other departmental officers.
The updated status of unresolved cases was thoroughly examined during the session. Minister Saraogi directed officials to prioritise the resolution of these cases to ensure justice—punishment for the guilty and relief for the innocent. He emphasised that administrative transparency and accountability within the department depended on timely and impartial action.
“Laxity in resolving pending cases will not be tolerated under any circumstances,” Saraogi warned, underlining the need for quality and punctuality in district-level reporting. He also stressed the need for prompt disciplinary action in cases involving serious allegations.
Providing an update, Additional Chief Secretary Dipak Kumar Singh reported that 544 cases against revenue officials have been disposed of so far. These include 248 minor penalties, 92 major penalties, 89 instances of pension deductions, and 135 warnings. Of these, 234 cases were resolved in the current financial year, 2024–25.
The minister instructed the department to further strengthen its monitoring system to accelerate the disposal of pending cases. “The people of Bihar approach this department with expectations. We must honour their trust,” Saraogi said, adding that a more responsive and transparent mechanism must be established to track and act on public complaints submitted at the headquarters level.
Consolidation Director Rakesh Kumar, Joint Secretary Anil Kumar Pandey, Special Officer Manibhushan Kishore and other senior officials were also present at the meeting.
