Patna : The South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (SBPDCL) has stepped up efforts to develop Patna Science College into a model college by providing modern digital teaching equipment and furniture under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.

Energy Secretary and Bihar State Power Holding Company Limited Chairman-cum-Managing Director Ajay Yadav handed over the equipment to the college’s acting principal, Dr Alka, on Thursday. The initiative follows directions from Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary to develop the institution with improved educational infrastructure and modern teaching facilities.

SBPDCL has supplied 14 interactive panels measuring 75 inches, 20 computer sets with CPUs and furniture to the college. The company has spent Rs 66,69,050 on the digital equipment. Painting and renovation work is also being undertaken on the campus, with around Rs 6 lakh sanctioned separately for building beautification.

Smart Classrooms And Digital Learning To Get A Boost

The new equipment is expected to support smart classrooms, digital presentations, practical teaching and computer-based learning at Patna Science College, a prominent science institution affiliated with Patna University.

The introduction of interactive panels and computer systems is intended to give students access to modern teaching tools and improve the delivery of classroom instruction.

The initiative also seeks to strengthen the college’s academic infrastructure as part of the broader plan to develop it into a model institution.

Energy Minister Welcomes The Initiative

Energy Minister Shailesh Kumar, also known as Bulo Mandal, welcomed the initiative, describing it as an important step towards promoting modern technology and better educational facilities.

He said the development of Patna Science College as a model college would support efforts to improve the quality of education through modern infrastructure and technology.

Energy Secretary Ajay Yadav said the new digital facilities would encourage smart classroom teaching, digital presentations, practical learning and computer-based education. He emphasised the importance of improving academic facilities and providing students with access to modern resources.

SBPDCL To Continue CSR Support For Educational Institutions

SBPDCL Managing Director Saurabh Jorwal said investment in education, technology and infrastructure could help young people become more self-reliant and competitive.

He added that the company would continue supporting the overall development of educational institutions through its CSR initiatives.

The college’s acting principal, Dr Alka, welcomed the company’s contribution, saying the equipment would promote digital learning and provide students with improved academic facilities. She also expressed confidence that the initiative would encourage innovation and research and contribute to the college’s development as a model institution.

The impact of the initiative will depend on the effective use of the new equipment and the continued improvement of teaching and campus facilities.
