Patna: Rajya Sabha MP and Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLMO) president Upendra Kushwaha has said that he received multiple death threats from people claiming to be part of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. He shared the details on social media and requested Patna’s Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) to take urgent action.
According to Kushwaha, he got seven threatening phone calls between 8:52pm and 9:20pm on Wednesday night. These calls came from two different mobile numbers. In addition, he received a message from another number at 8:57pm warning him not to speak against a particular political party. The message also included a threat saying, “We’ll finish you in ten days.”
Kushwaha posted on the X platform (formerly Twitter) that such threats have no place in a democracy. He called on the police to take immediate notice and punish the people responsible. “Strict action must be taken against those who are trying to create fear,” he wrote.
So far, police have not given an official response, but the matter has raised concern. Many are hoping that authorities will act quickly and make sure leaders and citizens feel safe in Bihar.
