Patna: The Bihar government has announced financial help for fish farmers under the Chief Minister’s Pond Fisheries Development Scheme for 2025-26. The Fisheries Department has invited applications from farmers to take benefits of this scheme. Fish farmers can apply online till 31 August to get subsidies for different types of fish farming works.
Under this scheme, farmers will get 50 to 70 percent subsidy depending on their category. General category farmers will get 50 percent subsidy. The scheme includes five main parts such as advanced fish production, setting up tubewells and pump sets, installing aerators in ponds, carp hatchery support, and renovating fish seed hatcheries.
Officials said that in the last three years, fish farmers have received a total grant of Rs 298.46 crore under such schemes. This has helped many farmers become self-sufficient in fish production and improve their income. The scheme is running in all districts so that farmers everywhere can benefit.
Farmers can apply online at fisheries.bihar.gov.in. For more information, they can also visit the District Fisheries Office or check the state government website. Officials have requested all interested fish farmers to apply before the deadline to get maximum benefit and grow their fisheries business.
