Muzaffarpur: Orthopedic doctors in Bihar will now meet two times a year instead of just once. The Bihar Orthopedic Association (BOA), which holds its annual conference called Boacon every year, has started a new conference named Midcon. The first Midcon was organised in Muzaffarpur and ended on Sunday. This new conference is planned to be held in the middle of every year to improve learning among doctors.
The two-day Midcon-25 was organised by the Muzaffarpur Orthopedic Club under the BOA. Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti, Dr Raj Bhushan Chaudhary, inaugurated the conference. It was presided over by Dr Upendra Prasad, President of BOA. Many orthopedic surgeons from across Bihar attended the event to discuss the latest developments in their field.
Dr Praveen Kumar Sahu, secretary of BOA and an orthopedic surgeon at NMCH Patna, said this conference will help doctors stay connected and share knowledge about new technology and treatment methods. He said, “Earlier we met only once a year. Now with Midcon, we will meet twice to discuss new ideas and improve our work for patients.”
During this conference, doctors presented a total of 48 research papers. Six detailed presentations were also made on different orthopedic topics. Postgraduate students took part and presented their research papers too. BOA has decided to organise Midcon every year in different districts of Bihar so that more doctors can attend and improve their skills to serve patients better.
