Patna: The Bihar government has decided to send an investigation team to Telangana after two workers from Bihar died and 16 others were injured in a blast at a chemical factory in Sangareddy district. Labor Resources Minister Santosh Kumar Singh said this is the first time that Bihar is sending its team to another state to investigate such an incident. He said experts will be included in this team to find out the exact reason for the accident.
Speaking to reporters in Patna on Tuesday, Minister Singh said the team will check if there was any negligence by the factory in this blast. If any major negligence is found, Bihar will discuss the matter with the Telangana government and the Central government. Secretary of the Labor Resources Department, Deepak Anand, was also present during the press conference.
The Bihar government has announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs four lakh each to the families of the two workers who died. It has also announced Rs 50,000 assistance for each of the 16 injured workers. The bodies of the two deceased are being brought to Patna and from there they will be sent to their native villages by the government.
During the press conference, Minister Santosh Kumar Singh also thanked Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for approving the Mukhyamantri Pratigya Yojana. He said this scheme will help youths of Bihar gain work experience through internships, making it easier for them to get jobs in other states. Under this scheme, more than one lakh youths will be linked to internships in the next five years with a budget of Rs 685 crore.
