Patna: Bihar Chief Secretary Amrit Lal Meena has directed all divisional commissioners and district magistrates to halt the transfer of any employee involved in the special intensive revision of the voter list. The instruction, issued on July 3, comes ahead of the Bihar Assembly election and follows guidelines from the Election Commission of India.
Amrit Lal emphasised that the voter list revision is a programme of national importance and its implementation is beginning in Bihar. He said it is the responsibility of district officials to ensure the full availability of officers and workers engaged in this task.
The directive states that Electoral Registration Officers, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, BLO supervisors, and BLOs hold key roles in the process. Teachers, Vikas Mitra, Anganwadi workers, Kachhari secretaries, Panchayat secretaries, and Tola Sevaks are currently performing duties as BLO supervisors and BLOs.
Amrit Lal further ordered that no other personnel associated with the voter list work should be transferred and that proper alternative arrangements must be made for their regular departmental responsibilities. He instructed officials to take all necessary actions to ensure the success of the Special Intensive Revision Programme, 2025 in Bihar.
