Patna: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s welfare schemes are getting huge support from people across Bihar. His government has launched many programmes to help farmers, women, youth, and the elderly. This was also seen in the recent local body elections where the ruling party’s workers and supporters won in large numbers, showing that people trust his policies.
In villages and cities, schemes like Mukhyamantri Kanya Utthan Yojana for girls, Vridhajan Pension Yojana for the elderly, and Student Credit Card for students are changing lives. These programmes are no longer just written in files but are working on the ground. Many women, elderly people, and students are now getting direct benefits from these schemes.
Farmers are also getting new support from the government. A scheme has been started to promote the use of drones for spraying pesticides and fertilisers. For this, farmers will get subsidies and free training. The government has kept a budget of Rs 368.65 lakh for this. Officials say this will make farming easier, modern, and more profitable for farmers.
The state government has also increased the pension amount for elderly people, widows, and disabled persons from Rs 400 to Rs 1100 per month. This change will start from July itself and nearly 50 lakh people will benefit. Students are also getting help through the Student Credit Card Scheme started in 2016, under which they can get loans up to Rs 4 lakh for higher studies and repay after getting a job. Experts say that these schemes are improving people’s lives and also increasing Nitish Kumar’s popularity in Bihar.
