Patna: Union minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) president Chirag Paswan met Bihar governor on Thursday to discuss political issues and upcoming events. Speaking to reporters outside Raj Bhavan, Chirag said that seat sharing in the National Democratic Alliance would be finalised shortly.
Reflecting on the 2020 assembly elections, he stated that if his party had been part of the NDA then, the Rashtriya Janata Dal would not have won so many seats. He noted that RJD victories came from constituencies where LJP candidates had contested, adding, “Those seats would not have even reached double digits.”
Chirag also informed the governor about a programme to mark his late father Ram Vilas Paswan’s birth anniversary on July 5 and shared updates on VETO, an organisation working in multiple countries that is building a university with a Bihar First, Bihari First vision.
Responding to former chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi’s statement calling him an inexperienced leader, Chirag said, “Manjhi ji is our guardian. He can say anything, I have no objection. I keep taking blessings from him. The opposition should not be happy with these things, we are united.”
Chirag praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for receiving Ghana’s highest civilian honour, saying it was a matter of pride for the entire country
