Patna: Arvind Kejriwal, the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party, has announced that his party will contest upcoming elections in Bihar alone with the aim to form the next state government. Speaking during his visit to Gujarat, Kejriwal said, “We have shown this in Punjab, and our government will be formed there next time too. In Gujarat also, in the coming days, we will win the elections and form the government.”
Meanwhile in Patna, Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar, who leads the JD(U), visited Raj Bhavan on Thursday to meet Governor Arif Ahmed Khan. The meeting, which lasted around 30 minutes, focused primarily on the condition of state universities and necessary appointments for their improvement. However, political observers believe that electoral and alliance matters may also have been discussed.
In a symbolic development ahead of the assembly elections, a photograph of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with Nitish Kumar was put up at the BJP office within 24 hours of a similar photo being placed in the JD(U) office. The move is seen as an attempt by both parties to signal their coordination to party workers and the public.
