Motihari: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was welcomed to Motihari, Bihar, with a roadshow through Gandhi Maidan on Thursday, accompanied by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Sinha. During the event, CM Kumar was seen engaging in a seemingly light-hearted conversation with the Prime Minister on stage, prompting smiles from Modi as the two leaders sat side by side.
The occasion marked the inauguration and foundation-laying of development projects worth over Rs 7,200 crore, covering sectors such as railways, roads, fisheries, rural development and information technology. Additionally, four new Amrit Bharat Express trains were launched.
Ahead of the visit, Nitish Kumar had taken to social media to highlight the significance of the day, writing: “In the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, foundation stone and inauguration of schemes worth more than Rs 7,200 crore will take place in Motihari, as part of the vision of a developed Bihar for a developed India.”
On stage, Kumar thanked the Prime Minister for what he called a “big gift” to Bihar. “These projects will significantly boost the state’s development. Heartfelt gratitude and congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this important initiative,” he said. “Our goal remains clear — Bihar must reach new heights every day.”
