Bettiah: A strange and surprising incident has come to light from Bettiah in Bihar, where a one-year-old boy bit a snake to death. The child, named Govinda, son of Sunil Shah, was playing in the courtyard of his home in Mohjhi Bankatwa village on 24 July when the incident happened.
According to the family, a wheat snake entered the courtyard while Govinda was playing. Without knowing the danger, the child caught the snake and bit it. The snake died immediately. Moments later, Govinda fainted. His family panicked and rushed him to the nearby Primary Health Centre. From there, he was referred to the Government Medical College Hospital (GMCH) in Bettiah for better treatment.
Doctors at GMCH, including Dr Saurabh Kumar, confirmed that the child’s condition is now stable and he is under constant medical care. The doctors said the quick response helped save the child’s life and he is slowly recovering.
The unusual incident has shocked people in the village. Locals are calling it a miracle that a one-year-old child could bite a snake and survive. Though wheat snakes are usually not poisonous, doctors are keeping a close watch to avoid any health risk. The child’s condition is said to be improving steadily.
