Patna: Bihar is taking a big step to improve education in its primary schools. Under the National Education Policy 2020, the state government has announced that all 71,223 primary schools will get ICT (Information and Communication Technology) labs and smart classrooms. This will help young students learn about computers, audio-visual tools, and new technologies right from the beginning.
The Education Department has asked all District Education Officers (DEOs) to make sure that Rs 50,000 is available in each school for emergency needs. This money will help with setting up smart classes, fixing benches and desks, and making classrooms more comfortable and modern for students. Special focus will be given to making sure that classes are held inside proper rooms with working equipment.
The schools will also upload important details like the number of students, teachers, smart classes, and computer labs on the government’s e-Shikshakosh portal. Photos of the improved classrooms and school buildings will be taken on Independence Day, 15 August, and added to the portal. This will help keep a proper record of every school’s condition.
The aim is to make learning more interesting and useful for children by connecting education with technology. Officials believe that this move will improve the quality of education in Bihar and help children keep up with the digital world.
