Madhubani: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar visited Madhubani on Saturday and announced development projects worth Rs 426 crore. The event took place at Plus Two High School in Laukahi block. He arrived by helicopter and was joined by Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary, MPs Sanjay Jha and Sheila Mandal, Minister Lichi Singh, and former minister Laxmeshwar Rai.
During the visit, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stones for many projects. These included the cleaning and revival of the Purani Kamla and Jeevchh Kamla rivers, and the building of four weirs and other water structures. He also started a Rs 31 crore project to turn Fulhar, the place where Lord Ram and Sita are believed to have first met, into a tourist spot.
Nitish Kumar also announced a new railway overbridge near Shaheed Chowk in Jaynagar costing Rs 178 crore, and a new interstate bus stand in Madhubani costing over Rs 14 crore. He said these projects would improve roads, tourism, and provide more jobs for local people.
The Chief Minister also took part in a roadshow on the Nishchay Rath, which spreads awareness about government schemes. He asked people to support these projects so that development can reach everyone in society.
