Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Inspects Progress on Bapu Tower Construction in Patna
Patna: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar conducted an on-site inspection of the ongoing construction of Bapu Tower in Gardanibagh on Sunday. The visit included a comprehensive review of the construction progress, coupled with directives issued to officials overseeing the project. Subsequently, on the occasion of World Cancer Day, the Chief Minister inaugurated a program at Medanta Hospital, refraining from engaging with the media during the visit.
The construction of Bapu Tower stands as one of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s visionary projects, reflecting the aspirations of the Bihar Government. This ambitious endeavor comes with an estimated cost of around Rs 129 crore, encompassing Rs 85 crore for civil work and Rs 45 crore for the exhibition area. Spanning across 7 acres, the total built-up area of Bapu Tower is 10503 square meters, complemented by parking facilities for approximately 200 vehicles.
A distinctive feature of the circular building is the application of a 42,000 -kilogram copper layer on its outer wall. The copper undergoes a chemical reaction with oxygen and nitrogen, producing vibrant rainbow colors that enhance the building’s aesthetic appeal. Apart from being a tourist attraction, Bapu Tower is equipped with amenities such as a cafeteria, research center, and other facilities. Notably, the construction has been carried out using green technology, aligning with environmental sustainability.
