Patna: In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Bihar government has assigned new roles to 12 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers and transferred four others, according to a notification issued by the General Administration Department on Saturday.
Harjot Kaur Bamhra, currently serving as Additional Chief Secretary of the Environment, Forest and Climate Change Department, has been given additional charge as Chairperson-cum-Member of the Revenue Board. Mihir Kumar Singh, Additional Chief Secretary of the Industries and Transport Departments, has received the additional charge of Director General-cum-Chief Investigation Commissioner.
Finance Secretary Dr Ashima Jain has been transferred and appointed as Additional Member of the Revenue Board. Rachna Patil has been made Secretary (Expenditure) in the Finance Department following her transfer.
Ujjwal Kumar Singh, Special Secretary in the Rural Works Department, has been appointed as Director of the Animal Husbandry Department. Among officers previously awaiting postings, Sanjay Kumar has been posted as Additional Director General, Bipad; Arvind Kumar Verma has been made Special Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat; and Satyendra Kumar Singh has been posted as Additional Secretary in the Information and Public Relations Department.
Yashpal Meena, Additional Secretary in the Water Resources Department, has been given additional charge of Director, Handloom and Silk Directorate, until further orders. Krishna Kumar, Joint Secretary in the Road Construction Department, has been posted as Director, Museum, Art, Culture and Youth Department. Ashutosh Dwivedi, Joint Secretary in the Building Construction Department, has been given additional charge of State Transport Commissioner.
