Musical Magic at Nalanda: Pt. Rajendra Prasanna’s Flute & Pt. Lalit Kumar’s Tabla Enchant Campus
Rajgir : The majestic halls of Nalanda University resonated with soul-stirring melodies as Pt. Rajendra Prasanna, acclaimed flutist and recipient of the Grammy certificate, graced the Sushma Swaraj Auditorium with his mesmerizing classical music concert. Accompanied by the rhythmic beats of Pt. Lalit Kumar on Tabla, Pt. Prasanna’s performance captivated the audience, comprising students from over 30 diverse nations.
Organized by the SPIC MACAY heritage club of Nalanda University, the event exemplified the institution’s holistic approach to student development. Prof. Abhay Kumar Singh, the Honorable Vice-Chancellor (I), emphasized the profound impact of classical music on personal and artistic growth, stating, “Nalanda University is committed to nurturing cultural, spiritual, and artistic development among its students. Classical music serves as a catalyst for refinement and creative exploration.”
Aligned with Nalanda’s mission to inspire future global leaders, the concert enriched formal education while fostering an appreciation for India’s rich cultural heritage. It provided a platform for cultural exchange and connection, celebrating the shared art forms and traditions of diverse nations.
SPIC MACAY, founded in 1977 by Padma Shri awardee Prof. Kiran Seth at IIT Delhi, has been instrumental in promoting awareness of India’s cultural heritage among the youth.
