Patna: Patna Pirates have confirmed Ankit Jaglan as their captain and Deepak Singh as vice-captain for the upcoming season of the Pro Kabaddi League, which begins on August 29. The three-time champions will open their campaign against UP Yoddha on September 1, aiming to secure a fourth title.
Jaglan, who has been with the Pirates for three consecutive seasons, was acquired in the recent auction for Rs 1.573 crore, making him the highest-paid all-rounder on the team. Speaking ahead of the season, he said: “I am very grateful to have the opportunity to lead Patna Pirates. My goal is for the entire team to compete at the highest level. Working with coach Anup Kumar has been a great learning experience. There is no doubt that our goal is to win the ultimate prize. The entire team knows their roles. All set to lead Patna Pirates to victory.”
The Pirates’ squad for Season 12 includes Ayan Lohchab, Navdeep, Sudhakar Maruthamuthu, Deepak Jaglan, Hamid Mirzai Nader, Sanket Sawant, Sombir, Amin Ghorbani, Maninder Singh, Ankit Kumar, Mandeep Kumar, Milan Dahiya, Sahil Patil, Ashish Birwal, Balaji, Jadhav Shahji and Saurabh Narwal.
