Patna: Indian Railways has reinstated daily services of a special train connecting cities in Bihar and Jharkhand, moving from a limited-run schedule back to everyday operations to accommodate sustained passenger demand through the monsoon and festival lead-up period. As per the latest update, the service will operate daily until September 30, offering consistent connectivity on a corridor that had earlier seen curtailed frequency.
The special train had previously run on the route with reduced trips and different stoppage patterns, including phases when it terminated at or originated from stations such as Nawada and Tilaiya, before the network was rationalised for broader coverage. The restoration to a daily timetable is expected to decongest parallel routes, improve seat availability, and offer predictable travel options for office-goers, students, and business travelers moving between the two states.
Railway officials indicated that the daily pattern will help stabilize bookings and provide flexibility around short-notice trips, particularly as seasonal rains and local events tend to spike ridership on certain days. Passengers are advised to check updated timetables, stoppages, and coach compositions via official channels before travel, as minor operational adjustments may be notified based on crowd patterns.
The resumed daily special is part of a wider effort to balance capacity across inter-state links in eastern India, where recurring festive traffic and regional fairs, along with return migration cycles, often strain regular services. With the current approval window extending through September 30, the railways will monitor demand and may review the schedule for the October period depending on load factors and network conditions.
