Patna: A young man died after falling from a moving train between Urban Halt and Rally English Halt in the Danapur division of Patna. The victim, identified as 22-year-old Bittu Kumar from Chananiya village in Lakhisarai’s Suryagarha police station area, was reportedly returning home after visiting his sister.
According to initial information, Bittu fell from the train near pole number 476/22. His body was dragged for about two poles, leaving blood and body parts scattered along a 150-metre stretch. One of his hands was found around 50 metres from the main spot, while a leg was discovered another 50 metres away.
The mutilated body lay on the track for nearly two hours amid a jurisdiction dispute between Barh and Mokama railway police. Eventually, Mokama RPF took custody of the body and sent it for post-mortem at the sub-divisional hospital in Barh.
Family members said Bittu had recently cleared the written examination for Bihar Police recruitment. A local resident, Ranjit Kumar, informed them of the incident after identifying the body at the scene.
