Patna: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s elder son, Tej Pratap Yadav, has intensified his public criticism of his own party. On Tuesday, the former Hasanpur MLA, who has frequently clashed with RJD leaders, targeted sitting MLA Bhai Virendra during a roadshow in the Maner constituency.
Addressing supporters, Tej Pratap accused Virendra of engineering his expulsion from the party and labelled him a “bull”. “This bull has now become unbridled. He can remove me from the party, but he cannot remove me from the hearts of the people,” Yadav told the crowd.
The remarks underline Tej Pratap’s growing estrangement from the RJD as he builds his own political base under the banner of “Team Tej Pratap”. He inaugurated a local office in Mahinawa and announced Shankar Kumar Yadav, Maner’s deputy chief councillor, as his candidate for the assembly seat.
Promising development works, Tej Pratap pledged to construct a cricket stadium and push forward other local projects in Maner, signalling his intention to field his own slate of candidates in the state elections.
