Patna: Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) has urged residents to pay their property tax before the end of September to avoid penalties.
According to the civic body, September is the final month in which payments can be made without any additional charge. From October 1, a penalty of 1.5% will be levied on overdue amounts. Property owners who paid between April and June received a 5% rebate, while those who paid between July and September did not qualify for any discount but avoided penalties.
Municipal commissioner Animesh Kumar Parashar has directed officials to ensure staff are available at all PMC tax counters to assist residents in paying property tax and solid waste management fees.
The corporation has also expanded online facilities for payment. Residents can pay via the official websites pmc.bihar.gov.in and pmcptax.bihar.gov.in, or through a WhatsApp chatbot at 924447449. Demand letters are also being distributed door-to-door by municipal staff.
The PMC said timely payments help property owners avoid financial penalties and ensure smooth collection for civic services.
